About us
The Dry Eye Centre was founded in 2013. We are highly specialist optometrists with a background in the hospital eye service and the treatment of complex eye conditions. We were motivated to set up the Dry Eye Centre as we noticed the increase in number of dry eye sufferers and the paucity of good treatment. We decided to take action and provide a dedicated dry eye service to improve the treatment of dry eye in the UK.

Inga Slotin
BSc(Hons) MCOptom
Inga is a highly skilled and dedicated Optometrist with a strong background in both clinical practice and academia. Since completing her studies, she has amassed extensive experience in various specialized areas, particularly in dry eye and the management of keratoconus and corneal conditions.
Inga’s journey in optometry began with a strong academic background, including a BSc(Hons) in Life Sciences from the University of Toronto in 2016 and a BSc(Hons) MCOptom 2021 from City University of London. She has further specialized with a Glaucoma & MECS (minor eye condition services) accreditation from WOPEC and is currently pursuing an Independent Prescribing qualification at Hertfordshire University.
Inga currently works as a Specialist Optometrist in the Keratoconus and Corneal Clinic at St. Thomas Hospital, a role she is very passionate about. Whilst working within this clinic, she became very aware of how prevalent co-existing dry eye problems were in patients with ocular surface diseases and corneal irregularities. She found that when the dry eye signs improved, not only was the monitoring of ocular conditions more accurate, but improvement also helped the better management of such disorders.
In addition to her clinical duties, Inga is also involved in the training and development of future optometrists. As a Pre-Reg Academy Facilitator since September 2023, she provides mentorship, support, and structured training sessions to pre-registration optometrists, helping them achieve the necessary competencies for professional qualification. Furthermore, Inga holds the position of Clinical Lead Optometrist, where she oversees clinical operations, ensures high standards of patient care, and leads performance reviews for the optometric team.
Inga is committed to advancing the field of optometry and providing exceptional care to her patients.
