Having suffered from red and irritated eyes for some time, when my optometrist Nigel Burnett Hodd asked if I would like to attend the Dry Eye Centre recently set up by his daughter Dr Caroline Burnett Hodd at the family run practice, I didn’t hesitate. The Centre uses the latest technology and imaging to assess the cause of the dry eyes and after an initial assessment a course of three Intense Pulsed Light treatments was prescribed – the intense pulses of light give an effective hot compress to unblock the glands which has significantly improved the condition.

I am grateful for the professionalism and care shown by Caroline Burnett Hodd and her team and would not hesitate to recommend the Dry Eye Centre to anyone who suffers from dry eyes.

From having a tearing, itchy eye at least two days a week, I have been tear-free now for more than one month thanks to your care. This has been an awful problem for a number of years and I’ve seen eye consultants and allergists. The last consultant I saw said the only cure would be DCR surgery.

I have come a long way until I finally found the Dry Eye Centre. Having seen many doctors before who couldn’t help me, I immediately felt in good hands during the first assessment at the Dry Eye Centre. Dr Hodd took a lot of time to listen to me and to examine my eyes.
